The Exhibit accepts rolling submissions for publication!
By submitting your work via email, you are agreeing to publication in The Exhibit. Should the submission be withheld from the subsequent issue, we reserve the right to use it in a future issue unless we receive the author’s written request to remove it from our database.
Please attach your submission in .doc or .docx format to [email protected] with your name, year, and major(s) in the body of the email. Please also specify whether you are submitting it as a blog post or for our print publication.
Q: So, what should I submit?
A: Show us what you are passionate about. We accept a variety of quality work ranging from critical pieces to poetry to travel journalism. Write about you, write about an experience, express your feelings on an issue, make up a short story or flash fiction. Review a book, a TV show, a genre of music. Check out our past issues for a sample of previously accepted work.
Q: Is there a word minimum or maximum?
A: We don't want to limit your creativity. However, keep length in mind in terms of layout and presentation. We typically would not publish a 12-page essay. If your piece is selected for the publication, an editor will contact you and work with you until we achieve a finalized product.
Q: Who can submit?
A: Undergraduates at UCI. We typically accept work from students who are majors or minors within the School of Humanities. However, we also accepy quality work from undergraduate students from other schools/disciplines at UCI.
